About the Author
Christopher A. Beetham (PhD, Wheaton College) is assistant professor of biblical studies at the Evangelical Theological College and assistant professor of New Testament at the Ethiopian Graduate School of Theology, both in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He is the author of Echoes of Scripture in the Letter of Paul to the Colossians.
J. I. Packer (DPhil, Oxford University) serves as the Board of Governors’ Professor of Theology at Regent College. He is the author of numerous books, including the classic best-seller Knowing God. Packer served as general editor for the English Standard Version Bible and as theological editor for the ESV Study Bible.
Dane C. Ortlund (PhD, Wheaton College) is the executive vice president of Bible publishing and Bible publisher at Crossway. He serves as an editor for the Knowing the Bible series and the Short Studies in Biblical Theology series, and is the author of several books, including Edwards on the Christian Life. He lives with his wife, Stacey, and their five children in Wheaton, Illinois.
Lane T. Dennis�is president and publisher of Crossway Books and Good News Tracts. Dr. Dennis earned his BS in business from Northern Illinois University, an MDiv from McCormick Theological Seminary, and a PhD in religion from Northwestern University. Before joining Good News Publishers in 1974, he served as a pastor in campus ministry at the University of Michigan (Sault Ste. Marie) and as the Managing Director of Verlag Grosse Freude in Switzerland. He is the author and/or editor of three books, including the Gold Medallion-award-winning book Letters of Francis A. Provides Good Insights on What it Means to be a Christian

This is the third of this series that we have used in our Sunday School class. Because Colossians is so short, some of the sessions are too short to take up an entire class period so at times we have covered two sessions at a time. Some of the questions for personal reflection are a bit obtuse and hard to answer but the commentary and scripture connection portions are excellent. We use the books in a reformed theology setting and they fit well. Overall, the book provides a good insight into the key messages Paul wants the Colossians (and us) to understand about what it means to be a Christian. It also covers the application of Christian principles to the situation covered in Philemon.

Good bible study

I just started this study with my weekly life group. The book gives really good insight into the passages and the questions are written in a way that they almost answer themselves so its not hard to get off course with what the verse is actually about.

I'm a big fan a bible commentaries. This one is a bit light, buy then I expected that. It's even implied on the cover. LOL.
