>I received this book from the author and Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock. I am an independent reviewer. This is the second novel in the Beware of Bad Boy series and ends in a cliffhanger.

>Gianna and Caleb run away for a weekend to Vegas. Normally, I'd think that would be fun, but these must be the oldest looking 16 year olds ever. They go clubbing and finally sleep together. Everything is really romantic until Caleb decides relationships are all about having fun and not love. It was amusing to see Gianna use those words against him in the strip club. Their fights are very immature, which actually fits 16 year olds.

>Being forced apart, Caleb and Gianna have the typical relationship angst, until they finally are honest with each other. Once more, adult situations for young kids don't make sense. Gianna works as a semi exotic dancer? Her weird mom doesn't know? Doesn't quite ring true.

>The assault was horrible, but probably the most realistic thing in the story. I am reading all 3 books in this series together, but if the third book wasn't out yet, the cliffhanger would have ticked me off.

>This book is appropriate for an adult audience due to sexual situations and a brutal assault.

This book started where book 1 finished Caleb and Gianna off to Vegas young love riding off into the sunset oh wait a minute there's Julie Gianna's mom who is the worst mother ever against there love trying every trick in the book to separate them and Caleb fell for it hook line and seeker wee bit of heartbreak and drama a twist I never seen coming and made me cry I didn't know there was another book in this series that made me mad cause this book was out April 2014 and still no sign of the last book in this series and the ending was like OMG I need the next book now!!!

Im so impatient I need the third one! I really like this serious its cute and young but not cheesy! I really hope they pull through this and before he gets out of the detention facility I wish he didnt have to go at all I mean he was defending her but whatever cant wait for more

Great Book for Teaching Spanish to Beginners or Homeschoolers

I've been looking for a good "Spanish for beginners" book for a long time. I bought Practice Makes Perfect Basic Spanish (Practice Makes Perfect Series)for that purpose, but you can read in my review of that book why it wasn't sufficient. But now I finally have a good book for beginning Spanish. The book is called Getting Started with Spanish by William Linney and Antonio Orta.

The book teaches you what you would typically learn in a Spanish I class in high school or Spanish 101 in college. But what makes this book different from other books is that the lessons are divided up into manageable "bite-size chunks." Each lesson gets a little more elaborate than the previous one.

The authors have bent traditional ways of teaching Spanish. For example, the infinitive isn't introduced until later in the book. But you learn how to conjugate the three conjugations before then. Instead of teaching the forms of "hablar," the author teaches the forms of "yo hablo." So the "yo" form, or the 1st person singular form is used as the semi-infinitive form. When I saw this method of teaching Spanish verbs, I realized that you don't really need to know the infinitive form anyway, at least not until you learn modal verbs like "querer" and "necesitar."

The authors have even supplied free mp3 audio files on the book's website. You can download the entire zipped folder from gettingstartedwithspanishDOTcom. Or you can download each mp3 individually.

The format of this book is unique and quite possibly a revolutionary way to introduce new languages. It makes me wish I had thought of it first. I've always considered learning Latin, but didn't know where to start. I may use the author's book on Latin now =Getting Started with Latin: Beginning Latin for Homeschoolers and Self-Taught Students of Any Age. And his book on Spanish makes me want to see a book on Getting Started with French (hint, hint).

Getting Started With Spanish by W. Linney

This is a fantastic book! I am using it with my 9 year old child but don't let that throw anyone. This is a book for any age just like Linney states on the front cover. The lessons are concise but full of information. Each lessons builds upon itself so the teaching is sequential. Grammar rules are added in here and there as well.

This is a well done book for those ready to begin their study of Spanish. For my now teen child, we have used both "Rosetta Stone" and "Auralog, Tell Me More" in the past. If this Linney book had been available I could have skipped these other two and used this! :) Great book!!!

Suzuki method to learning Spanish

The pedagogy of this book mirrors the Suzuki method to learning language. Because every lesson is manageable size, the students will have success right away and build their confidence.

Building upon previous lesson, the student can easily reach mastery before going on to next lesson using the audio files.

Incredibly, the pronunciation files for every lesson are FREE for download! There are also, FREE downloadable lesson-by-lesson lecture files from his web-site. This is incredible deal. As a homeschool mom, we do research and know the cost of programs. Other language program charges at least twice as much because you have to buy the book and the audio separately. I've used "Before You Know It" progam and this program is definitely superior, a lot cheaper and highly more effective. This program is so affordable, valuable and cost-effective.

Incomplete at best

This is absolute junk! The "complete homeschool bundle" doesn't come with the books and poems necessary to teach each lesson. The whole set is written for a classroom setting and then they removed the books and called it "homeschool ready" when really you are left less prepared to teach. Truly you would be better off buying those cheap Hooked On books you can buy at Walmart and Sam's club.

Great resource!

Words their way is a great resource to help students understand word families, see connections between words, and start to internalize how words are created and what sounds letters make. I wouldn't use this as a curriculum by itself, but it is a great supplemental resource for any spelling/vocabulary/phonics work in the classroom or at home.

A Classic in Children's Literature (but Not Boring)

I've loved Marguerite de Angeli's illustrations and stories since I was a little girl (and I'm a grandma now). It's delightful to see that they're back in print, so that I can give copies to my grandchildren. The stories are gentle, but have action enough to keep the interest of young readers who are interested in other times and other places. The art is superb! SKIPPACK SCHOOL is the tale of a boy (son of an immigrant Mennonite family) who gets in and out of trouble in pre-Revolutionary Germantown, Pennsylvania. Try reading it aloud - showing the illustrations, of course - to your 6 to 9-year-old children or grandchildren.

Enjoyed!

This is a good book. My seven year old daughter read it. The story is great, but it is written in a dialect that I found a little difficult. However, my daughter was able to read it and enjoyed it. It has some pictures in it but not on every page. The chapters are rather short so they make for great reading segments.

Theology is for Divine Service

This is a great book. The Lutheran Quarterly Books series has concentrated on publishing works from two crucial Lutheran theologians- Gerharde Forde and Oswald Bayer. One easy way to summarize the thesis of Bayer's book is to say that, just as Forde stated that "theology is for proclamation," Bayer here argues that "theology is for divine service."

What does he mean by this? His basic thesis is that theolog has two inseparable sides- the "monastic" side, its liturgical spirituality, the first order discourse of worship. And then it has an "academic" (wissenschaft) side, the secondary discourse on the primary texts (forms of speech and worship). The two are inseparable, just as in Forde's thought, theology drives and leads to proclamation, but also emerges from proclamation and so leads to further proclamation.

The book is also an excellent resource because Bayer summarizes and introduces Luther's understanding of theology. He focuses especially on Luther's three "rules", rules Luther learned from his repeated praying of Psalm 119. In his introduction to the New Testament translation, Luther offered three rules for theology: Oratio (reading out loud), meditatio (praying or contemplating), and tentatio (suffering or undergoing the text).

Along the way, Bayer addresses issues in the philosophy of science, the study of speech acts, and critiques the main modernist proposals- Schleiermacher, Kant, Hegel, and Bultmann.

Anyone could read this book as a fascinating introduction to theology the Lutheran way. Lutherans will be edified, and will be pushed to clarify their own assumptions and reading of Luther.

so.... 3 stars
his book on luthers theology is better, but .... wow. very very deep. he truly captures Luthers theology as few other men have done.
