Not recommended for the beginners

I would like to study PowerShell from the beginning. Have no previous knowledge of PowerShell. Ed Wilson wrote in the Assumptions "The book does not expect you to have any background in programming, development or scripting. All elements related to these topics, as the arise, are fully explained". The small mention that was skipped out - this book requires previous knowledge of PowerShell. Usually books in "Step by step" series provide very thorough explanation of the basics. Not in this book. For me, the book looks like chaotic mix of various aspects of PowerShell. Maybe it would look different after I will study the PowerShell? Not recommended as first book to study PowerShell. By the way, would appreciate the advice what will be the good book for the beginner.

I highly recommend to anyone just starting out in this field, and would like a cheat sheet if you will to have handy without having to search all over the internet, your phone, textbooks, and etc... Although I do recommend that you get the newly updated inserts that have come out for the straight ICD 10...

I have found this quick study guide helpful in trying to memorize for my medical coding classes. Plus it's very concise. Perfect but if you plan on taking the testing for certification, they will not let you take this with. Just good to have for practice.

COmprehensive in that it covers the topics in marketing research well, but organized and presented in a simple, easy to read format. Well-structured. More practical, less conceptual or theoretical... as it's an "applied approach."

It does provide practical view of how MR works in the real business world. Because I did not access to the detail before I get it, I'm a little worried about the content. But, after I got it I feel so satisfied with the insight the author provides. In general, it does worthy the money I pay for. Highly suggested.

This book is a must read for all of mankind. Everyone has a need for deliverance whether you admit it or not. The author takes us on a journey of his past as a voodoo warlord, how he surrendered his life to Christ, and how God delivered him from a life of servitude to the kingdom of darkness. A Must Read For Everyone Who Seeks Spiritual Freedom & Deliverance

This is one very special kind of book from a spiritual perspective. This book indeed gives a deep insight and opens ones' eyes to many spiritual things that they may be ignorant about. This book also facilitates special prayers (section by section) to help one break free from curses & evil covenants and to be delivered completely forever. I would highly recommend this book to every Christian and to anyone who sincerely seeks spiritual deliverance and freedom.

Reverend James Solomon is really a great Man of God, who is greatly used by God in many nations around the World. My family and I are privileged to have met with this wonderful Man of God and particularly to be able to attend a couple of his crusades. God Bless him richly and abundantly.

One of the best substantial books on epilepsy

Until recently, this book was out of print and totally unavailable. ( I had to purchase it three times from used booksellers. One copy was destroyed in shipping, one was lost and the third one I had to purchase from one of those rip-off book dealers in Great Britain. )

BTW, this book is HARDBACK and not paperpack so you are getting what you paid for.

Other books to consider would be:
1) Handbook of Epilepsy Treatment 2nd ed. by Simon Shorvon
2) Status Epilepticus by Simon Shorvon
3) Photosensitive Epilepsy ( New Edition ) by F. A. Graham ( dated but interesting )
4) Partial Seizures and Interictal Disorders by David P. Moore

This book, The Epilepsies: Seizures, Syndromes and Management, has one of the best sections on photosensitive epilepsy in print( from pages 452-472 ). This section, alone, justifies the price and the entire book is of similar value and quality

Note that the following are general comments about epilepsy and do NOT refer to this book.

In general, there is not much particularly interesting and useful regarding photosensitive epilepsy. To me, testing for photosensitive epilepsy by exposing the patient to a strobe pulsing at various frequencies is marginally diagnostic. ( Outside of discotheques, how often you you encounter pulse trains produced by strobes ? )

Fluorescent lights, computer video display terminals, the dotted lines on a road, fences, trees planted along a roadway, even the oscillations of quaking aspen leaves; NONE of these produce waveforms similar to a strobe. ( Strobes have very, very low duty cycles whereas more natural sources of repetitive flashing / blinking have much higher duty cycles - say from 1% for trees to 50% for fencing or blinking produced by various poorly designed pieces of electronic equipment.

There is an extremely interesting form of epilepsy called non-convulsive status epilepticus. There is a similar form of epilepsy accompanied by complete paralysis ( NOT Todd's Paralysis ) lasting hours or even a day with no postictal confusion. ( There is a reference to this in Moore but I cannot find the page )

It is my thesis that many, many people have a sub-clinical form of epilepsy, better described as cortical irritability, in which they have problems, specifically, with fluorescent lights and computer displays. ( The previous paragraph suggests that some individuals affected with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Multiple Chemical Sensitivities may actually have epilepsy ) There are also an enormous variety of reflex epilepsies.

Anyways, I'm warn out so enough is enough.

About the Author
DR RAFFAELE D'AMATO is an experienced Turin-based researcher of the ancient and medieval military worlds. After achieving his first PhD in Romano-Byzantine Law, and having collaborated with the University of Athens, he gained a second doctorate in Roman military archaeology. He currently works as vicehead of the Laboratory of the Danubian Provinces at the University of Ferrara, under Professor Livio Zerbini. This is his sixth book for Osprey.

Part two of a great study on Roman Centurions

In this book we leave behind the Republic. The centurions of the classical and late empire, although sharing many military roles with Republican centurions, developed into something more: A possibility of social ascension, a cadre of tough and obedient public administrators, political police officers and even enforcers for Emperors and senior politicians.

The Imperial period Centurions and Centenarius (in the late empire) are now disclosed in this small but marvelous book by one of the greatest investigators specialized in ancient Rome. With academic rigor and intelligent reasoning, Prof D'Amato guides the reader through the careers, lives, equipment, clothing and social status of those officers that were the true anima of the Roman Army. As always, he "discloses" great pictures of rarely published artifacts and sculptures, like the one probably representing a centurion wearing a lorica Segmentata (MOST probably; the sword in the left hip is quite a giveaway for the period in question; also the staff in his right hand and the richly embossed attic helmet wouldn't be usual in a legionary), from the Templum Gentis Flaviae; or the leather and linen greaves (or lining of the greaves) in the Vindonissa Museum! Other artifacts are given new and logical interpretations or possibilities, like the tombstone of T. Calidius.

The art from Giuseppe Rava details with unparalleled detail the equipment, creating magnificent aids to better visualize the explanations of Prof. D'Amato. The plates include Centurions from the following periods:

- Augustan-Tiberian Period (1st Cent BC - 1st Cent AD)
- The Julio-Claudian dynasty
- The investiture of a centurion in the Flavian dynasty
- A head presentation to Emperor Trajan during the first Dacian Campaign

A great source of information on the Roman centurion!

This book is a great addition to one's library on Roman history. The author's main intention is to use primary sources, Roman writers and archaeological finds, to outline the centurion's career path and also explain his role in Roman military and civil society. He also devotes a considerable amount of space in describing and illustrating extremely well their equipment.

Dr Raffaele D'Amato writes in a way that is easy to understand and enjoy. The colour plates are brilliant (drawn by his co-author Giuseppe Rava) and they act as a major draw card when purchasing this book or others from Osprey Publishing.

This book is a sequel to his first book `Roman Centurions 753-31 BC' and both are a great reference source on Roman centurions. I have read both with great satisfaction.

A small but wonderful book on the 1st Century Roman Centurion, with excellent details and graphics about the backbone of the Roman Army. Powerful men who trained the Roman soldiers and Interacted with the local population. I'm studing the Centurions in the New Testament and how the occupying power in Israel delt with the political and religious in the first century. A very helpful addition to my library.
