You would expect, given the information based society we live in, people would have a better understanding on how data should be regulated and control. Unfortunately, it is generally not the case. Where there is a gap in the knowledge, Data Protection: A Practical Guide to UK and EU Law steps in to fill the void. And does it admirably well!...What is surprising about the book is how easy it is to read. I can only commend Carey's approach: it allows both lawyers and non-lawyers to become familiar with the issues and principles...This is an excellent text which is exactly what it says it is: a practical guide to UK and EU data protection law. I recommend this to both lawyers who want a better understanding and non-lawyers who want a better understanding.

A good book for getting an understanding of the UK Data Protection and Privacy laws

I am pretty much new to this topic and found this book to be useful in getting an understanding of the EU Data Privacy laws and the UK data privacy laws in particular.
